A Godly Reputation

We all are seeking good repute. But first, let’s stop and examine our character.
For, it dwells in the heart, and that’s what God judges, so it stands as a major factor.
You see, a reputation is what the people see. Your character's who you really are.
So whether you’re trying to fool me or you, I promise, you won’t get very far.
For, that in the darkness will come to light, you see, a tree is known by its fruit.
And, if you don’t know what your fruit should be. It’s in Galations 5:22.
Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith,
Meekness and temperance is all one fruit that you should possess each day.
So, once your character reflects Him above, then, are you on the right track.
And, when the enemy comes in like a flood, you’d be equipped to defeat his attack.
When someone comes about to hate you, you’d still know how to show them love.
When your storm seems to rage and rage, you’d find peace from the true God above.
Whenever someone intentionally works your nerves, just to see what you’d say,
Longsuffering will stir up in your spirit & guide your tongue throughout the day.
And when you find yourself penny-less, knowing that your bills are due,
Faith in God with show up just in time to remind you He’ll see you through.
So, you see, this fruit is important. It needs to be nurtured each day.
And when others look at you, they’ll see the God shining through their way.
O, what an awful thing it would be for you to profess to be like Christ.
When, in you dwells every characteristic that’s just the opposite of nice.
Not only does it make you a hypocrite, but, it defames the name of God
How dare you witness to unbelievers, when you’re unholy in the inside?
People tend to judge the church based on everything we saints do.
So every time you make any choice, remember, people are watching you
We know God by the traits of His character, and the reputation that He upholds.
We know that He is omniscient, and that His wisdom will never grow old.
We know that if He says something will happen, it’s destined to come to pass.
And because he’s just an Awesome God, He’ll treat us like first class.
We know that He’s Pre-eminent, our Protection, and our Provider.
We know that he’s our Savior, our Friend, but yet, our Father.
We know that He is dependable, and always there right on time.
We know that He’d never leave us hanging or leave us trapped in a bind.
We know we can trust Him always, because He will never let us down.
And whenever the enemy tries to attack, in Him, security can be found.
And, there’s no doubt in our mind that His reputation will ever change
Because, God is an everlasting God and He’s forever the same.
So, you see, He is the example that we should follow after each day.
And, don’t let the little tactics of the devil interfere and get in the way.
As men and woman of God, we must learn how to resist temptations.
One way is to be set apart from all evil and corrupt communications.
Women, we don’t want our good name to be evilly spoken of.
If we are pure, we want our name to be pure, just as pure as a dove.
We should not be mistaken for harlots because of the way we dress.
Every time someone sees us, our material is less and less.
We should not be classified as promiscuous, 'cause we lay with every man we see.
Prostitution should not be our profession. That’s not who God wants us to be.
Our body is God’s temple. And, we should want to keep it clean.
Even our thoughts should be wholesome and not filled with sullied things.
Our mind should be focused on things that are lovely, things that are noble and right,
Anything true and admirable, whatever is pleasing in God’s sight.
We should be known as Women of God that knows how to pray and intercede
On our families behalf, our enemies behalf, and those that are bereaved.
When people see us, they should know that we are daughters of the King.
And we should have faith that our Daddy can do any and everything.
People should know us as compassionate, loyal, loving and kind.
And, any form of hatred in us, no one should be able to find.
Even if we are falsely accused, we can still overcome a bad name;
For, our Godly characteristics should shine through and eradicate our shame.
Our lifestyle may be the only Bible that some people may ever read.
So, we need to make sure that we’re living Holy everyday out of the week.
We want to stand out of the crowd and ecstatically stand for God.
And remember to be a willing vessel `less he finds someone else for your job.
We want our reputation to describe our character and define who we really are.
And if that is a Child of King, we will win this battle by far. |
